Trikatu means "the three pungents" and consists of ginger, black pepper, and long pepper (Pippali). Trikatu is a traditional, pungent spice blend. According to Ayurvedic understanding, Trikatu stimulates catabolism and thus reduces deposits and phlegm. It can also be used very well as an additive to oils (i.e., for insensitive, oily, cold skin) in cases of insufficient Pitta and accumulated Kapha in the skin or tissues (fat tissue).
Ingredients:
Ginger, black pepper, long pepper (Pippali)
Information on Ayurvedic Powders (Churnam):
In Ayurveda, various powder preparations play an important role.
Some, for example, consist only of a single root that has been cleaned, ground, and dried, while other churnams consist of a combination of different plants, right up to the most complex recipes.
Often, churnams are further processed or are part of a recipe.
