The dried roots, cut into pieces, can be easily chewed to suck out the licorice juice. Pieces of licorice root are also suitable for cooking, for example, beetroot and other vegetables, braised dishes or soups (remove the root before serving). Of course, you can also grate licorice: grated finely, it flavors and sweetens desserts and other sweet dishes. Small pieces of the root can also be brewed and enjoyed as a tea (pour boiling water over approx. 1 - 2 g and let it steep for 10 - 15 minutes).
