Rasa (taste): spicy/katu, bitter/tikta
Guna (property): oily/snigda, light/laghu
Virya (effectiveness): cold/shita
Vipaka (taste after digestion): spicy/katu
Ideal for pastries, stews, soups, meat, etc.
