Fenugreek seeds
According to Ayurvedic understanding, the brown seeds balance Vata and Kapha without stimulating Pitta.
In Ayurvedic cuisine, fenugreek seeds go well with curries (the bitter taste can be reduced by roasting the seeds in ghee).
Effect on doshas:
Vata & Kapha: lowering
Rasa (taste): bitter/tikta
Guna (characteristic): oily/snigda
Vipaka (taste after digestion): spicy/katu
Agni (metabolic energy): strengthens Agni
